Apart from its floral wealth, the Valley of Flowers is also home to diverse fauna, including the elusive snow leopard, Asiatic black bear, red fox, and a variety of birds. The Nanda Devi National Park, of which the valley is a part, is a sanctuary for rare and endangered species, adding to the ecological significance of the region.

In addition to its natural allure, the Valley of Flowers holds cultural and spiritual importance. Legend has it that it was once inhabited by fairies and is associated with the epic Ramayana.
